Why we're calling on Barbara

Residents describe a leadership style that left them feeling silenced — talked over, dismissed, or belittled when they raised legitimate concerns. A community association should invite its members in, not shut them down.

Homeowners also point to enforcement that lands hard on some neighbors while others go unaddressed. In our members' view, rules should apply evenly to everyone, or they are not rules at all — they are a tool.

Our ask is simple: commit — publicly and in writing — to changing the association's enforcement practices and policies. Or resign, so that someone more focused on privacy, community, basic decency, and the cost of living can serve instead.

In my experience, Ms. Pursley's board silenced the very people it was supposed to serve and made no effort to move Association policies and procedures in a direction more in line with current needs and sentiment of the community members. I have personally seen trash containers/plastic storage bins, and dead branches sit along the side of her own home for more than 90 days, while the rest of us were cited for far less. Rules that only apply to some of us aren't rules — they're a weapon.— Waterglen resident

That the surveillance and monitoring of residents stop. 2. That rule enforcement be applied fairly and evenly, or not at all. 3. That residents be treated with respect when they raise concerns. If you are unwilling to make and keep that commitment, I ask that you resign from any role in the association, so that someone more focused on privacy, community, basic decency, and the cost of living in Waterglen can serve instead.
